Want a specific software program to be taught at a meeting? Want to learn how to find and download software on the Internet? Send an email to Mimi at desertrat98@dc.rr.com!

Unless otherwise noted all meetings start promptly at 2 p.m., ending at about 4 p.m., and are held at the Palm Desert Library adjacent to the College of the Desert on Fred Waring just east of Monterey.  We do not charge any fees, but we will accept donations so that we can keep up with needed new equipment & continue providing you with our programs. We try to reserve the room for the first Wednesday of the month from October thru May. (This is NEW! The Library is currently holding classes there on Thursdays so we had to change our meeting date.)

Our meeting format will try to be a 10 minute segment on some hardware tip; another 10 minute segment on a software tip; two 15 minute Q&A (one at each end of the meeting), and a presentation of about an hour or so.

MEETINGS SCHEDULED

WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 2, 2009

Lyn Morse will show us how to use iPhoto to create easy and great looking calendars that you can give as gifts. Here is what she has to say about it:
"Calendar is a part of iPhoto. You can make customized calendars for a year, using the photos from iPhoto into templates above the date area. Events for the year can be put into the appropriate spot on the calendar - including some symbols that are included. Text can be colorized.   Yes, you may print out the final project or send it to Apple for a very slick, professional calendar."
So, come on down and set awhile and enjoy the show!

Remember that the library has gone wireless, so bring your wifi compatible laptops to the meeting!

We will also have our usual Q&A sessions, so bring your laptops, notepads and questions!

Meetings later in the year will be from 2-4 as usual on the following WEDNESDAYS ( with exceptions as noted):

WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 6, 2010

Avery DesignPro is a program made to take advantage of the many different Avery products. It is an easy to use program to design and print Avery labels, business cards, dividers, T-shirt transfers, greeting cards and more. We will be giving these programs out to the first 70 people who attend and there will be drawings for a variety of Avery packets of products. This should be fun!
